Publish Or Perish is an aphorism used in academic work, especially research, describing the pressure to publish in order to succeed. This is not unlike the art world where if we don't make work, we don't attract anyone's attention. So I draw from here, and especially from an extract from my diary that I wrote, to express how the world is a constant tug of war, of knocking on doors, of moving forward, of doubting yourself and fighting, but at the end of the day we are looking for the essential. It is those details that give meaning to the world we live in.

As Herman Hupfeld wrote "You must remember this / A kiss is still a kiss / A sigh is just a sigh / The fundamental things / apply as time goes by". And this is what my project is about, living the simple things.

Publish Or Perish es un aforismo que se utiliza en los trabajos académicos, sobre todo de investigación, que describe la presión de publicar con el fin de tener éxito. Esto no es muy distinto al mundo del arte en el que si no hacemos trabajos, no atraemos la atención de nadie. Por lo que parto de aquí, y sobre todo de un extracto de mi diario que escribí, para expresar como el mundo no deja de ser un constante tira y afloja, de estar llamando a puertas, seguir avanzando, de dudar de ti misma y pelear, pero al final del día buscamos lo esencial. Son esos detalles lo que dan sentido al mundo en el que vivimos.

Como escribió Herman Hupfeld “You must remember this / A kiss is still a kiss / A sigh is just a sigh / The fundamental things / apply as time goes by”. Y de esto trata mi proyecto, de vivir las cosas simples.
