“, te quiere, mamá" artwork series explores the relationships between mothers and daughters through different stories and perspectives, inspired by the moving accounts that Vivian Gornick shares in her book "Fierce Attachments". Like Gornick, this project aims to explore the complex emotions that arise in these relationships, including closeness, dependence, love, frustration and pain. Through this exploration, I seek to offer a deeper and more compassionate look into these relationships, and to promote greater understanding and empathy towards mothers and daughters all over the world.
“, te quiere, mamá,” es un proyecto que explora las relaciones entre madres e hijas a través de diferentes historias y perspectivas, inspirado por los conmovedores relatos que Vivian Gornick comparte en su libro "Apegos Feroces". Al igual que Gornick, este proyecto busca explorar las complejas emociones que surgen en estas relaciones, incluyendo la cercanía, la dependencia, el amor, la frustración y el dolor. A través de esta exploración, busco ofrecer una mirada más profunda y compasiva hacia estas relaciones, y promover una mayor comprensión y empatía hacia las madres e hijas de todo el mundo.
Bárbara Traver shamelessly exposes the ambiguous relationship with the mother. Her project “, te quiere, mamá” seeks the key between the dichotomy of inculcating her daughter with her own values and giving her the independence necessary for the creation of the woman she has to be. Between love and the pain of reconciling the maternal-filial relationship, the artist embarks on the creation of intimate portraits of both in which the longing to break the bond with the maternal womb shows at the same time the primordial link to which we are all subjected.

Bárbara Traver expone sin pudor la relación ambigua con la Madre. Su proyecto «, te quiere, mamá» busca la clave entre la dicotomía de inculcar a la hija unos valores propios y otorgar la independencia necesaria para la creación de la mujer que ha de ser. Entre el amor y el dolor por conciliar la relación materno-filial, la artista se embarca en la factura de retratos íntimos de ambas en donde el anhelo por romper el lazo con el útero materno muestran al mismo tiempo la vinculación primigenia a la que todas estamos sometidas.
